CARIBOU, Maine — Members of the Caribou VFW Auxiliary of Post 9389 held their yearly coloring contest at Hilltop School for second-grade students, and the award ceremony was held on Nov .4 at the school.
Each student that participated — 81 total — received an American flag, a ruler with the Pledge of Allegiance and a picture of all the Presidents on it, a pencil with the Pledge of Allegiance on it and a booklet about flag etiquette.
The top 10 student entries received a certificate, and the top three students received a monetary reward; first place winner Emily Clayton received $15, second place winner Emma Christie received $10 and third place winner Sofia Fleury-Mendible received $5.
