“Nothing Too Small To Make A Difference” by Wanda Urbanska and Frank Levering just hits the spot for a nation in deep debt with some people having so much “stuff” they need to rent storage space to keep some of it so they can have more.

Then there are ones in the same nation with so little food, such cold dwellings, no reliable transportation, low-paying jobs (or none), and scant hope for anything better.
What can one person do? Well, reframe your mind to do the best you can with what you have. No money to give? Do you have time to volunteer? Anywhere? Handicapped? Can you write a letter to a friend? Call a senior living alone? No matter how small your act may seem – it does make a change in your outlook and for the good of other people.
One of the most rewarding things people can do is lessen their own footprint in the environment. Personally, I would like to see smokers keep those butts off the ground and out of the water system. Same thing with pet waste: how many doggie’s doo-doo does it take to foul the river?
One of the greatest lessons parents can teach their children: consideration and good manners for the place where they live and the people around them.
This book opened our eyes to the importance of caring and how the caring is passed on and around families and communities. An easy read with ever so many hints for making good changes in our world. A hopeful message for those who want to leave their space in better condition.
Remember, Cary Library is conducting their annual children’s book sale for memorials and honorarians – only $10 per volume.
