SACAP, Visions Gallery’s Festival of Trees raffle is popular holiday event

On Nov. 30, the Southern Aroostook Cultural Arts Project joined other local businesses in ushering in the Christmas season with the drawing of the winning raffle tickets in our Festival of Trees at Visions Gallery.

The lucky winners were as follows: “A Redneck Christmas” donated by Bowers Funeral Home was won by Dorothy Fitzpatrick. “The Artist Tree”, hung with donations from Visions artists, was won by Martha Stewart. A 36-inch holiday wreath, donated by the F.A. Peabody Co., was won by a very excited Riley Fitzpatrick. The festive holiday tree, donated by The Horn Restaurant and including gift certificates, was won by Sarah Howe.
TD Bank’s contribution, a spectacular nine-foot tree decked out in purple and silver ornaments, is now owned by a very fortunate Dick York. Shop ‘n Save’s tree, an extravaganza of colored lights and ornaments designed and purchased by the company and its’ employees, is now the property of Naomi Mills.
Duke Thatcher was the lucky winner of not one but two gorgeous trees; Crème Broule, a purple and silver concoction donated by The Vault Restaurant and complete with purple gift certificates and “A Country Christmas,” decorated with handmade ornaments and topped by an intricate red bow and streamers, donated by York’s of Houlton.
“La Belle Fleur,” Chadwick Florist’s creation of white lights and intricate white fabric flowers all enfolded by wide, gold edged, red gauze ribbons was won by a delighted Carol Scott.
Bee Moore’s gold and white tree, laden with pure honey and spa products, left the gallery for the home of Sharon Johnson.
And last but certainly not least, Uncle Willie’s Candy Shop’s donation, featuring twelve pounds of hard candy and tiny white lights fashioned by owner Karen Sutton and her family in the shape of a tree, went to Samantha Mooer.
The Southern Aroostook Cultural Arts Project congratulates all winners of this event and expresses their gratitude to this year’s business sponsors and their employees for their participation in this fundraising project. Without the support and hard work of Bower’s Funeral Home, Visions artists, the F.A. Peabody Company, The Horn Restaurant, TD Bank, Shop ‘n Save, York’s of Houlton, The Vault Restaurant, Chadwick’s Florist, Bee Moore Farms and Uncle Willie’s Candy Shop, this event could not have happened. And just as importantly, the group thanks the Houlton community who bought raffle tickets and made this project a success.
