Purple Hat Ladies met at the Smoki Haulers Clubhouse in Oakfield for their Christmas party Tuesday, Dec. 10. Marie Gillotti led the meeting. Fourteen ladies were present in their Purple Hat and otherwise their Christmas outfits.
Wannetta Townsend gave the blessing before the meal. Each lady gave her name for her Purple Hat, namely Charlotte was “Crazy.’’ Kerry Bartlett, Bob Locke and Don Marley were thanked for the meal and was given a round of applause.
Boxes were distributed for Christmas containing cookies and candy. Purple Hat ladies also gave a donation to the ARK Animal Shelter; one of our ladies, Betty Wyman volunteers at the shelter. Bear of the month was awarded to Sandra Holmes.
Many of the ladies told of past Christmases that proved very special to them. A Christmas song quiz was held that was fun. The next meeting will be at Brookside Inn in Smyrna Tuesday, Jan. 14.
