The varsity swim team at Caribou High School was the host team Saturday as Ellsworth paid a visit to the Limestone Community School pool.
The visiting Eagles won the girls’ meet, 101-49, while also taking the boys’ competition, 99-10.
Top individual point scorers for the Caribou girls were Kristyn Maley, second in the 200 IM (3:04.44) and Olivia Engstrom, second in the 500 freestyle (7:41.25).
The 200 medley relay team, consisting of Courtney Cote, Engstrom, Maley and Andromeda Grondin, finished in 2:45.14 and took second.
In the 200 freestyle relay, Conner Spencer, Alexis McLean, Megan Duplessie and Madison Yakel were part of the team that came in at 2:43.76 and in second.
Maley, Grondin, Spencer and Engstrom made up the 400 freestyle relay team which posted a time of 5:47.88 and was the runner-up.
Caribou’s Austin Scott came in first place in the 200 freestyle in 2:13.72 and claimed second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.71.
At Bangor on Dec. 27, the Viking swimmers went up against the John Bapst Crusaders in another dual meet.
Bapst was girls’ winner by a 129-23 score and claimed the boys’ meet, 89-10.
Scott won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.4 and was the runner-up in the 500 freestyle in 6:38.74.
For the girls, Cote took second in the 100 backstroke in 1:37.27, Engstrom was third in both the 50 freestyle (35.54) and the 500 freestyle and Spencer third in the 100 freestyle (1:27.82) and the 100 backstroke (1:45.12).
The Viking teams, coached by Erin Tateishi-Ouellette, goes back to work Saturday when they travel to take on Washington Academy of East Machias.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
