Volunteers sought for balance program

PRESQUE ISLE — Matter of Balance is an evidence-based training that does prevent seniors from falling.
The program is designed to be given in eight two-hour sessions by volunteer lay leaders that are trained by a master trainer. It is fun and easy to do. The Aroostook Agency on Aging’s Wellness/Nutrition Director Dottie Sines will teach the one-day class on Friday, Jan. 31, form 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Gathering Place, 33 Davis St., in Presque Isle.
Sines will provide all the training materials, set up the the training space, pay the volunteers mileage and be available to assist the volunteer when they hold their class. Sines would love to see one volunteer from each Aroostook town volunteer to be a part of the prevention and have a great time knowing they are doing a great thing for their community of elders!
If you’d like to become a volunteer instructor, you can sign up by calling Sines at 764-6185 or 1-800-439-1789.
