CARIBOU – Elaine June (Jalbert) Tracy died January 20, 2014, at a Caribou Health facility. She was born in Caribou on September 27, 1933, the daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Devo) Jalbert.
Elaine was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church where she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the Ladies of St. Anne and served as a CYO advisor. Elaine was a devoted homemaker and volunteered many hours at Cary Medical Center. She later joined her husband in operating Tracy’s Plumbing and Heating for several years until their retirement. She was an avid reader. She loved to garden, cross-stitch, and to go on lunch dates with her daughters. She enjoyed the endless Little League, soccer and basketball games that she attended faithfully to support her children and grandchildren. Elaine loved spending time with her family and was known as Mimi to not only her grandchildren but to many other children as well.
Mrs. Tracy was predeceased her husband of 60 years Charles (Bob) Tracy who died on May 22, 2013, and her daughter, Teri (Tracy) Bell. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Anita, Joanne and Francis. She is survived by her son, Wayne (Debbie) Tracy of Las Vegas; her daughters, Peggy (Fred) Bell of Caribou, Bonnie Tracy (Paul Brown) of Mass-achusetts, Jana (Rick) Klein of Idaho, and Pamela Tracy (Steve Libby) of Virginia. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Betty Wright of Caribou and Dotty Tracy of Westbrook. She is survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and the 15th great-grandchild to be born in July as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014, from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Emile Dube, officiating. Interment will be in the Old Holy Rosary. Following the service, all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the parish center. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mrs. Tracy may do so through the Holy Rosary Youth Ministry. Envelopes are available through the funeral home. www.mocklerfuneralhome
