CARIBOU – Rev. Elden J. Wilcox, 96, went to be with his Lord on January 11, 2014, at his Caribou residence. He was born at Perham on April 13, 1917, the son of the late George and Delia (Twist) Wilcox.
Elden served with the US Army during WW II, was employed by the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for over 33 years, and also pastored the North Star Pentecostal Church. At the age of 92, Rev. Wilcox fully retired after many years serving his Lord and performing countless wedding and funerals.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eldora (Green) Wilcox; a son, Dennis; and a daughter, Lois; and several brothers and a sister. Rev. Wilcox is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George and Vera Wilcox, and a daughter, Vikie Yerka; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Services were Wednesday, January 15, 2014, held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery in the spring. www.mocklerfuneral home.com.
