The Aroostook Band of Micmacs’ Boys and Girls Club will hold an open house Feb. 12 from 4-6 p.m. The event will take place at 7 Northern Road in Presque Isle.
Members will be offering a variety of youth programs, as well as promoting a variety of programs the club offers. Personnel will be present to answer any questions. Food and refreshments will also be available.

The club is the only one of its kind in Presque Isle and accepts all interested youth, Native and non-Native, who would like to participate. The club currently serves 72 students in the Presque Isle, Caribou, Easton, Fort Fairfield and Mapleton areas.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of America, local officials said, is an organization dedicated to introducing youth to programs that put the BGCA formula for an impact model into effect.  The BGCA formula aims to achieve academic success, good character, citizenship and healthy lifestyles for all participating youth.
Programs being offered by the Boys and Girls Club include healthy fitness activities, Tai Chi, Domestic Violence Prevention Initiative, Ski 4 Life, language classes, tutoring, a mentoring program and more.
