Recent guests of Clayton and Charlene Webb have been Clinton and Rachel Roy, who arrived from their home in Hodgdon and spent an afternoon visiting and recalling old times. Mr. Roy was the leader of the Country Music Jamboree, which was held at the snowmobile clubhouse every Wednesday and the Webbs were always there to enjoy the music. Clayton would entertain the group when he sang along with the musicians. Mr. Roy is recovering slowly from an operation and maybe,

some day, the group of musicians will meet again and start up the Country Music Jamboree.
King-Mitchell Post No. 7529 held its monthly public supper on Jan. 18 with chef Grey Hawk and assistants, Mariette and Kathy doing all the cooking and Reneva Smith and daughter, Margaret arriving to assist in serving and helping to clean up. A roast beef and roast pork dinner was served, with veggies and green salad, and of course, lots of desserts. It was well attended.
These public suppers are helping to finance the cost of new roofing for the clubhouse — which has already had one half of the roof redone. Plans are to finish it this spring.
I finally have three deer arriving just about dusk so have been busy cutting up apples and breaking up clumps of bread for their supper and getting it out by the barn before they show up. When I went out to feed the birds one morning there were deer tracks and droppings all under the bird feeders so I think they are getting their fill of sunflower seeds too. Every day I put out the peanut butter and lard mixture on the tree limbs and some on the feeders and every day it disappears almost as soon as I leave it. The woodpeckers and blue jays really like it, as do the chickadees and gold finch, but they are too small to fight off the big birds and have to wait their turn.  I make sure I put plenty out so there is always enough left for the little guys.
