Caribou squad wins league

    MARS HILL — The Junior High Aroostook League Cheerleading Championship was held Jan. 9 at Central Aroostook High School.
    Caribou, Presque Isle, Central Aroostook, Washburn and Houlton were the teams that competed. Caribou Middle School won the title and also earned trophies for Best Team Motions and Best Team Dance.

    The reigning cheerleading champions of The County are none other than the CMS Cheerleading squad.     Additionally, three CMS cheerleaders captured All Star Jumper awards. They were seventh-grader Molly McCrossin and eighth-graders Adrieanna Damboise and Margeaux Beaulieu.
    Caribou brought the maximum amount of cheerleaders, which included 20 who performed along with two managers. Half of the routine, including the dance and cheer portions, was choreographed by the cheerleaders themselves.
    The team is coached by Tracy Corbin.
