   FORT FAIRFIELD – Howard Scott Giberson, 44, husband of Saré A. (Walls) Giberson, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, February 4, 2014 at his Fort Fairfield home. He was born December 25, 1969 in Presque Isle, the son of Howard W. and Dianne M. (Thibeau) Giberson.
    Scott was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School Class of 1988 and served his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1991. After serving in the Marine Corps, Scott briefly attended Northern Maine Community College before deciding to go into business with his father, and was a major shareholder in Giberson Farms, Inc., Fort Fairfield. He was married to Saré Walls on August 25, 2001. Scott will be remembered for his love of family and friends who he enjoyed spending any free time with. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, collecting guns, target shooting and spending time on his farm, where he grew many acres of potatoes for more than twenty years with his father. He enjoyed mixing a big drink and cooking steak to perfection on the grill while listening to classic rock and country music. He was also a dog lover and had many special German Shepard animal friends over the years such as Bailey, Zeus and Daisy.
    Scott was predeceased by his mother, Dianne on May 7, 2003; and his stepdaughter, Abigail K. Ladner on November 15, 2013. He is survived by his wife of twelve years, Saré A. Giberson; two children, Colby and Marissa Giberson; his father, Howard W. Giberson and his special friend, Mary Whitmore, all of Fort Fairfield; one brother, Eric M. Giberson of Corinth; mother-in-law, Kathe Kyle of Portland; father-in-law, Brian Walls of California; several aunts, uncles, cousins, who were also very special to him; and many, many friends, a few who were especially close to him were, Ronald Barnes, E.J. Dorsey, Sean Bernard, Shannon and Philip Staples, Jeffrey Ouellette, Robert Novak, Chris and Tom Robinson and Todd Bradley.
    In keeping with the family’s wishes, the viewing was private. The funeral service was conducted Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Celebration Center, 170 Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Friends called at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held after the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. Spring interment with full military honors will take place at the Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to a scholarship fund to be presented annually at the Fort Fairfield High School, c/o Saré Giberson, 262 Conant Road, Fort Fairfield, Maine 04742.
