PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Maine Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met for breakfast Feb. 8 at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center.
President Nancy Nichols conducted the business meeting. A thank-you note from the Homeless Shelter of Aroostook was read for the Christmas gifts the chapter donated. A note of thanks was also read from the homeless shelter’s board of directors for a donation in memory of Marlene Kelley, who passed away in January. Kelley had been a member of the chapter for 60 years.
Northern Maine Community College sent a thank-you note for the chapter’s donation to the Larry Cowett Scholarship Fund. Also read was a thank-you note from The Gift food pantry.
The service committee collected boxes of cereal from members to be donated to local food pantries.
Plans were discussed for the upcoming Founder’s Day Banquet, which will be held April 24 at the Northeastland Hotel.
The next meeting is set for March 20 at the home of Dolores Hutchins.
