CASTLE HILL – Shirley Ann Coty, 76, passed away Friday morning, February 28, 2014, at her residence. She was born on October 29, 1937, in West Chapman, the daughter of Bernard and Blanche (Estabrook) Adams.
She worked for over 30 years in the banking industry, retiring from Key Bank in Presque Isle. Shirley loved gardening, was an excellent seamstress, and loved doing crafts. She was a member of the Red Hat Classy Lassies of Mapleton, and very active in the Senior Citizens Club as an aerobics instructor.
She is survived by her husband, David Coty of Castle Hill; two sons and their wives, David Jr. and Loretta of Presque Isle, Michael and Lori of Chapman; four daughters, Sandra Stewart of Presque Isle, JoAnne Barnes and her husband, Steven of Caribou, Carla Coty and her companion, Pat Hill of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Julie Bouchard and her husband, Tony of Ellsworth; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Arnold and her husband, Terry of Rapid City, SD.
She was predeceased by her parents; her son-in-law, Danny Stewart; and two brothers, Bernard Adams Jr. and Hollis Adams.
Friends and family called 1-2 p.m., Tuesday, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services were held at 2 p.m., with Rev. Kenneth Phelps officiating.
