Probus Club welcomes singing group

    PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Probus Club of Aroostook met at Northern Maine Community College’s Reed Commons Feb. 20 for its regular meeting. Sixteen members and one guest attended.    After president Hilda Walton called the meeting to order, the secretary’s and treasurer’s reports for January were accepted as read.
The Maine Event barbershop quartet were the club’s special guests and sang numerous songs. The Maine Event includes Dan Olson, Herman Fisher, Bob Cormier and Dean Rauch.
Co-chairs of the new members committee, Lucille Hay and Carolyn Watson, reported they are working on a list of interested committee members. Pearl Carmichael gave a reading to conclude the meeting.
The next meeting is March 20 at 10 a.m. at Reed Commons.
