Goodwin promoted to Bank Secrecy Act officer at Katahdin Trust

    HOULTON — Katahdin Trust Company President and CEO Jon Prescott announced the promotion of Kate Goodwin to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) officer. In her new role, Goodwin will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act to ensure that each functional area of the bank achieves and maintains compliance with all bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) laws and banking regulations. 

    “Kate has earned this promotion through her hard work and dedication,” Prescott said. “As the regulatory environment continues to present challenges, it is important that we remain diligent in our efforts to remain compliant in all areas and Kate continues to be a tremendous asset to us in this area.”
    Hailing from Durham, NC, Goodwin now resides in Caribou with her daughter. She joined Katahdin Trust in 2010 as BSA/compliance assistant and was promoted to BSA manager in 2012. Goodwin is a graduate of the University of North Carolina – Greensboro where she obtained her bachelor’s degree. 
    Active in civic endeavors, Goodwin currently serves as financial director of the Aroostook Roller Derby League and has previously served on a variety of boards including the Boreal Outdoor Club, Fat Tire Festival, and the World Cup Biathlon in Presque Isle.
