Once again, the Children’s Stage Adventures’ residency will be at Fort Street School from March 17-20. A production of “Androcles and the Lion” will be held on Thursday evening, March 20, at 7 p.m., at the Fort Street gym.

Approximately 50 local children, from grades 2, 4, and 6, will be cast to appear in the show with CSA actors/educators Stephanie Figer and Ben Regan.
A favorite Aesop’s Fable comes to life on the stage in this original musical adaptation of “Androcles and The Lion.” When Androcles, a slave, runs from his miserly masters his troubles begin to mount. Soon he comes face to face with a fierce lion in the forest. He is sure he has met his end. Fortunately a selfless act of kindness frees the lion from pain and gains Androcles a faithful, lifelong friend. Androcles is later captured and punished for his errors. In the exciting finale, Androcles is unexpectedly reunited with his devoted lion friend and spared an unhappy ending.
Stephanie Figer, from Auburn, N.Y., and Ben Regan, from Long Branch, N.J., will be the team of actors/educators from Children’s Stage Adventures. This is the team’s first tour with CSA, though both have extensive backgrounds working with children in theatre.
The 2013-14 season is Children’s Stage Adventures 15th year touring across the Northeast, with 60-plus residencies scheduled. Based in Sullivan, N.H., CSA is a non-profit organization supported in part by charitable donations. This coming year, hundreds of cast members will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, communities, neighbors and teachers.
Come out and support the youth of your community while enjoying a great show.

SAD 42 will be having registration for the 4- and 5-year-old programs for the 2014-15 school year. The registration will be held on Friday, April 11, at the Fort Street School and is open to 4- and 5-year-old children of the Mars Hill, Blaine and Bridgewater area.
