    OAKFIELD – Surrounded by his loving family, Linnwood D. Hersey, 62 (617), peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born February 28, 1952, in Island Falls, the son of Hilton and Joyce (Boutilier) Hersey.
American Flag ColorPT Linnwood Hersey Linnwood was a 1970 graduate of Oakfield Community High School where he held the title of Mr. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior, as well as Mr. Oakfield. Linnwood proudly served 20 years as a Maine State Trooper, Troop F as an accident reconstructionist and commercial vehicle enforcement unit, fulfilling his lifelong dream. He also served 10 years in the Maine Air National Guard. His passion for his community was never ending and served proudly as the President of Smoki Hauler Snowmobile Club, Vice-President of the Oakfield Community Railroad Museum, board of directors of Oakfield Alumni and was a selectman for the Town of Oakfield.
    He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 43 years, Athlea (Kennedy) Hersey; his two loving daughters, Stephanie and Joe Emery and Kathy and Ryan Bushey; four grand-children, who were the light of his world, Kaitlyn and Garrett Sommers and Emily and Jacob Bushey; brothers, Wilbur and Jill and David and Karla; sister, Melanie and Kirby Hardy; mother-in-law, Nadine Kennedy; sister-in-law, Penny and Billy Nadeau, brother-in-law, Donald and Lee Kennedy; several nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents and father-in-law, Ralph Kennedy.
    Friends called 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 14th and 9-11 a.m. on Saturday at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Oakfield, where funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev.
