Benefit bowling event raises $500

Northern Lanes in Presque Isle hosted its second annual Relay For Life bowling tournament March 1. Fifteen three-person teams entered the charity event and more than $500 was raised.

Sandy Post, Dave Caron Jr. and Dave Caron Sr. made up the first-place team. They defeated Karie Quirino, Cindy French and Mike Gardiner by 26 pins in a contest that came down to a tie-breaker.
The team of Ed Maynard, Scott Keirstead and Lester Hersey placed third.
Steve Spooner had high single with a 140 and Larry Good the high single with handicap with a 147.
Rick Curtis had the highest average at 114.67, followed by Dave Donahue in second at 114.
The bowling alley hosted the second annual Northern Lanes Memorial Tournament Saturday. The women’s Eastern Maine Bowling Tournament will also take place at Northern Lanes April 24-26.
