Lawrence E. Whipkey

     WHIPKEY, Lawrence E., 75, MAINE & OHIO, at Florida, September 5, 2013. A memorial will be held in Augusta in July He will be buried in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta in July.

   MAINE & OHIO – Lawrence E. Whipkey passed away at the Winter Haven Hospital, Florida, on September 5, 2013, of cancer. He was born in Springfield, Ohio, on October 9, 1937. 

    He was in the Air Force stationed at Presque Isle AFB and in the Air Force reserves in Springfield, OH. He spent most of his life in Maine, employed by Maine Public Service as Supervisor of Systems Operations. He resided in Washburn, ME, for 23 years.
    He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene Sides Whipkey; three sons and their wives, Myron and Nancy of Auburn, Scott and Susan of Augusta, and Donald and Kim of Washburn; nine grandchildren: Kim, Ryan, Nicole, Emma, Laurel, Amanda, Cameron, Raegan and Joey.
