CARIBOU — The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department will be working on getting rid of the winter doldrums on Saturday, April 12 as they celebrate sock hops, bobby socks, poodle skirts and saddle shoes and great music from the 1950s and early ‘60s.
Superintendent of Parks and Recreation Kathy Mazzuchelli said that “if you loved the ‘50s and ‘60s you will certainly love this evening of fun, food and games.” Mazzuchelli noted that a small group of volunteers from this retro era is planning a great night of fun.
The event is slated from 7-10 p.m. at the Caribou Wellness Center and will feature games from the era, fun foods and great music with lots of room to dance.
For those that want to really bring the era home, there will be a special prize for the person in the best period attire.
The admission charge is $5 per person.
The event is open to adults 18 and over. For more information contact the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department at 493-4224.
