WATERBURY, CT – Charlotte L. (Foster) Burke, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 72, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 29, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Charles Burke.
Charlotte was born in Blaine, ME, on May 10, 1941, daughter of the late Albert and Winnifred (Burlock) Foster. She was a Jehovah’s Witness and loved her family dearly. Her favorite thing was to bake and cook and have a house full of family and friends. She loved her yearly trips to Maine with her “sisters”.
Charlotte leaves behind three sons, Jeffrey Burke and his wife, Rebecca of Waterbury, Barry Burke and his wife, Hellen of Naugatuck, Charles Burke and his wife, Martina of Plantsville; a daughter, Pamela Rodriguez and her husband, Derick of Waterbury; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lois Caldwell of Herman, ME, Deanna Boland and her husband, Barry of Cyprus, TX, Lynette Heidi of Roseville, MI, Heidi Boyd-Blatt of Greenville, MI, and Violetta Hall of Skow-hegan, ME; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Paula Burke; and a brother, Kevin Boyd.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Waterbury Hospital staff and the wonderful caregivers and hospice.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, 6 – 8 p.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. directly at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 2670 North Main Street, Waterbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
