PT-Lois-BoullieDYER BROOK AND ISLAND FALLS – Lois A. Boullie, 89, passed away March 25, 2014, at a local hospital and was reunited with her love, the late George W. Boullie, whom she was married to for 54 years. She was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Smyrna Mills, the daughter of Freeman and Mary (Haskell) Bates.
As a child, Lois’s family moved to Massachusetts. She settled in Leicester, Mass., and it was there that she raised her children. Upon retiring, Lois and George moved to Dyer Brook. Lois loved to play bingo, buy scratch tickets and was an avid reader. She was also a loyal Red Sox fan and never missed a game, even when they didn’t have a winning team. Nothing pleased her more than being around her family; they meant everything to her. She will be sorely missed and our family will have an empty place that can’t be filled.
She leaves behind her daughter, Sandra Rockwell and her husband, Malcolm, of Island Falls; son-in-law, James M. Seymour of Merrimack, MA; granddaughter, Leanne White and her husband, Joey, of Oakfield; grandsons, Josh Rockwell and fiancée, Kelsey Suitter of Island Falls and James Seymour and his wife, Gretchen, of Lake Bluff, Ill.; great-grand-children, Ashton White and fiancé, Joshua Farrar, Alex and Austin White, Hadley and Bridget Seymour, Farrah Suitter and Brayden Rockwell; and very special cousins, Mary and Dana Hardy; many nieces and nephews.
Lois was predeceased by her husband, George; her parents; her children, Linda Seymour and twins, Freeman and Francis; a sister, Ada Monahan, a brother, Vance “Red” Bates; and a great-great-grandson, Caysen Stephen Farrar.
A very special thank you to Dr. Ted Sussman, whom she was very fond of, along with Dr. John Older, the Visiting Nurses of Aroostook, especially Doris and Terri, and the nurses at Houlton Regional Hospital.
Friends called 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where a prayer service was held at 8 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be announced in the spring. For an online guest book and to leave condolences please visit www.bowersfuneral.com.
