Presque Isle junior Hannah Graham made the Bangor Daily News All-Maine schoolgirl basketball team as a second-teamer, while junior Mackenzie Worcester of the Washburn Beavers earned a berth on the third team.

The elite squad was released over the weekend by the newspaper. Coaches, administrators, officials and media members were involved in the voting.

The 5-10 Graham, a guard, was the Big East Conference Player of the Year and was among the leaders in many of the league’s statistical categories. She led a team that, despite losing four starters from last year’s state championship squad, went undefeated during the regular season and made it all the way to the Eastern Maine Class B finals.

Worcester, a 5-5 point guard, missed the first five games of the season due to a broken hand suffered during the preseason, but came back strong to lead the team in points per game. She also was a key in the team’s ability to capture the Class D state title for the fourth consecutive year.

Making the first team were senior guard Parise Rossignol of Van Buren, senior guard Allie Clement of Catherine McAuley High School of Portland, Lake Region of Naples senior forward Tiana-Jo Carter, McAuley senior center-forward Olivia Smith, and Mount Desert Island senior forward Hannah Shaw.

Joining Graham on the second team were Calais junior guard Maddy McVicar, Wells senior forward Alison Furness, Freeport senior forward Nina Davenport and Lawrence sophomore center Nia Irving.

In addition to Worcester, the third team features junior forward Victoria Lux of McAuley, Gorham freshman Emily Esposito and senior guards Emily Quirion of Cony in Augusta and Kory Norcross of Edward Little in Auburn.

Among the players earning honorable mention were Washburn seniors Carmen Bragg and Carsyn Koch.

This Saturday, the boys’ All-Maine team will be unveiled.
