LIMESTONE, Maine — Officials with the Loring Job Corps Center have named Erica Scottbey as the March Student of the Month.
Scottbey is from Plainfield, N.J. and since her arrival at the Loring Job Corps, she has achieved the acknowledgement from both peers and staff as a future leader for the center.
“Erica has completed numerous leadership classes, volunteers many hours of her valuable time as a student mentor and can often be found assisting staff on a regular basis,” her instructors said. “Never asking for awards or recognition, her desire and dedication to make any organization better is contagious, making her a role model for all on Center.”
Officials also say that Scottbey displays the customer service skills sought after by employers making her a true asset to any organization.
“Erica has chosen to enter the Commercial Truck Driving Program here on Center and is training to earn her commercial license plus endorsements. Erica looked to Job Corps as a way to achieve valuable training and a chance to grow both as a person and a leader,” volunteers said.
Scottbey wishes to thank all staff on Center for allowing her the opportunity to excel in her goals and would like other young ladies who are looking for a great training opportunity to look at Job Corps because, as Scottbey said “the program works — just look at me.”
