Hodgdon voters approve budget, elect officials

HODGDON, Maine — About 35 voters turned out for Hodgdon’s annual town meeting Monday, approving a $570,626 municipal budget.

According to Town Manager Jim Griffin, that budget represents a slight $2,200 increase over last year. The town’s roads and bridges account was down $5,000, but that decrease was offset by an increase in the discounts and abatements account of about $5,000. Hodgdon offers discounts to property taxpayers for paying their bills early.

Joel Oliver was re-elected to the SAD 70 school board with 36 votes. Jared Carter received 11 votes as a write-in candidate.
Three individuals were elected to the town’s board of selectmen. Incumbents Joel Duff and Blaine Lincoln were re-elected with 34 votes each, while newcomer Richard Tidd was also elected with 33 votes.
