     WATSON, Earla Kenney, 89, CARIBOU and PRESQUE ISLE, at Presque Isle, April 8, 2014. Arrangements are in care of the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.

   CARIBOU and PRESQUE ISLE – Earla Kenney Watson, 89, wife of the late Wallace Watson, died April 8, 2014, at her Presque Isle residence. She was born in Stockholm September 14, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank and Bernice (Gessner) Kenney.

    Mrs. Watson was a graduate of Caribou High School and received her nursing training at Cary Memorial Hospital. For over 35 years, she was employed as an LPN in the OB Department at Cary Memorial and Cary Medical Center, where she welcomed several generations of newborns.
    She was a member of the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church in Caribou, and attended the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church in Presque Isle. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women’s Group. Mrs. Watson was involved with the local bowling league and was a cub scout den mother for a number of years.
    Earla will be fondly remembered for her homemade bread and many of her family and friends were the recipients of her beautiful and lovingly made mittens, slippers and other knit items.
    She is survived by her three children, Wallace D. Watson and his wife, Lillian, of Bolivar, Missouri, Donald K. Watson of Casper, Wyoming and Norma K. Watson and her husband, Guy Jackson, of Presque Isle; three sisters, Phyllis McGregor of New Gloucester, Jean Heitert of Council Bluffs, Iowa,  and Melinda Tomalino of Glenburnie, Maryland; four grandchildren, Angie Butler, Derek, Ian and Devin Watson; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a loving and attentive niece, Joan McElwain of Caribou. Mrs. Watson was predeceased by  her husband in 1989; an infant son, Roger; two brothers, Howard and Beryl Kenney; and three sisters, Netta Lunn, Helen Spencer, Ethel Aucoin.
    Friends visited  with the family at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 11 a.m. until time of services. A celebration of Earla’s life was held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Mary Lou Brown, officiating.
