PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Residents interested in becoming caseworkers for the American Red Cross can attend a free, one-day training session that will prepare them to volunteer at fires and other response efforts.
The Client Casework class will be held Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Transformations Ministries, located at 34 North St. in Presque Isle.
“Caseworkers are a critical piece of our team, and are often the first Red Cross personnel to arrive at a disaster,” said Disaster Program Manager Danielle Hardre, one of the instructors for the program. “They interview the victims, assess their needs, and help provide appropriate assistance.”
Hardre and co-instructor Dennis Drew of Presque Isle will provide the training, which teaches participants how to conduct effective client interviews and utilize support resources.
Although the program is free, pre-registration is required. For more information, call Hardre at 941-2903, ext. 405.
