Dermatology to be discussed at TAMC luncheon on April 25

    CARIBOU, Maine — “Dermatology and You: Learning to Love the Skin You’re In” will be the topic of TAMC’s April Community Lunch and Learn/Healthy Aging Luncheon set for the Caribou Inn and Convention Center Friday, April 25. Entertainment and other activity will begin at 10 a.m., with lunch and the presentation to follow at 11 a.m.
Nathan S. Ubelhoer, DO, will present the topic and discuss what he has seen in his years as a dermatologist. Ubelhoer has been a member of TAMC’s medical staff since 2005, providing services at the outpatient specialty clinics at North Street Healthcare. He received his doctor of osteopathy from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. Ubelhoer completed his residency in dermatology at Naval Medical Center in San Diego in 2004. He then went on to complete a fellowship in dermatologic surgery at Skin Care Physicians of Chestnut Hill in Massachusetts in 2005. He became board certified in dermatology in 2004.
Ubelhoer and his wife, Cynthia, have two children, Sarah, 5, and Christina, 7. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing piano, golf and hiking. He is currently writing a number of articles for peer review journals, as well as a book on the treatment of traumatic and burn scars.
The Healthy Aging Luncheon in Caribou will mark the third time in recent months that the TAMC Senior Connection Program presents an event in a community outside of Presque Isle. The Caribou program will feature music by the Wagoneers beginning at 10 a.m. and again during lunch. Attendees will also have the opportunity to register onsite at the Healthy Aging event for Aging Well, Living Well Senior Expo, which is set for May 20 at NMCC.
The daylong conference, hosted by the Aroostook Agency on Aging and presented in part through a partnership with TAMC’s Senior Connection Program, will include a keynote address and numerous workshops focused on issues of concern to The County’s senior population. Lunch and giveaways from more than two dozen exhibitors are also planned for the event.
The April 25 educational luncheon is open to the public. Cost for the meal is $10 per person. Members enrolled in TAMC’s Senior Connection program only pay $5. Onsite registrations are welcome. For more information or to reserve a seat, call 768-4171.
