Telephone coaching group for Alzheimer’s caregivers
MAPLETON — Providing dementia care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s is extremely demanding physically, emotionally and financially.
But advice, support or tips about how to minimize the demands of dementia care is just a phone call away.
Remembering 4 You (Remembering4You.com) has launched a weekly telephone coaching support group staffed by trained Alzheimer’s and dementia coaches for anyone who wishes to call in. This is an international effort to support everyone who is a dementia caregiver.
“Get proven strategies to help make your experience less strenuous. Acquire important information such as how to brush the teeth of a person who is living with Alzheimer’s in an effortless way. Learn what the family care-giving fatigue timeline represents and what to watch for to protect your own health. Most of all, this is a chance for you to share your stories and walk away with information you can use right away that directly affects your loved one and improves the life of each caregiver,” said Ethelle Lord.
The group meets on the telephone every Monday evening from 8-9 p.m. Eastern time (New York time). To participate, first register by simply going to remembering4you.com/alzheimers-coaching/.
Registration and participation is free. Participants receive an email with the telephone numbers for various countries of origin and a special access code. Or call 424-203-8405 and enter code number 769533 when prompted.
