Treasured memories

To the editor:
We all remember the Graves family? I’d like to share an excerpt from the book I started writing years ago that features them.  The Graves family was the wheel that turned the town. I am in much debt to them for their kindness. They played a major part in the excitement for that time period.
My brother Dalton Scovil, for example, is a book in itself. We both shared a closet-sized room on our grandmother’s farm — 7- by 7-feet if even that large. Guess who slept on the inside toward the wall? Yours truly. Guess who had the first crack at the Saturday night bath? He (Dalton) did. I got seconds,
I asked him one day how come he got to go first and he said because he did all the work around the farm; and that was end of that conversation. I chuckle. I have stored golden memories from that old farm on the hill.
