Deadline nearing for Soap Box Derby registration

The Northern Maine Soap Derby Committee (NMSDC) is inviting all 8-17 year olds to come be part of Maine’s only Soap Box Derby Race on Saturday, June 14 at Derby Hill in Houlton’s Community Park.
The soap box committee will help a driver find a car if needed or check out the www.AASBD.org website and raise money through sponsors for a car.
To register, stop by the Houlton Recreation Department to pick up a form or email rec.programs@houlton-maine.com. The race cost $30, but the experience of the “Thrill of the Hill” is priceless! Registration deadline is May 1.
All participants will receive a medal and attend the “After the Race Awards Party.” The top eight winners for each division will receive trophies and the top winners of each division will get to go to Akron, Ohio to take part in the world’s largest soap box derby race.
