CARIBOU — The Miss Northern Maine and Miss Aroostook pageant will be held at the Caribou Performing Arts Center on June 29. The competition is open to girls ages 2 and over, and who are residents of Maine, who will vie for the esteemed titles in the following age divisions: Miss Mini, ages 2-4; Miss Petite, ages 5-8; Miss Pre-teen, ages 9-12; Miss Teen, ages 13-15; Miss, ages 16-19; and Ms., ages 20-plus, is open to women who are either single, married or have been married.
Founded in 1997 by Theresa Pelletier, the program is designed to provide contestants with a positive pageant experience, help them to develop greater poise, self-confidence while offering an excellent opportunity to develop their overall onstage composure.
Contestants vying for the prominent titles are judged in their respective age divisions in the following categories: opening number, evening gown, and onstage speech competitions. Added to their score is the contestant’s highest score obtained in the optional competitions. The contestants achieving the highest overall total score will be crowned Miss Northern Maine in their respective age divisions. If there are five or more contestants in any age division, the contestant achieving the second highest total overall score will be crowned Miss Aroostook. In the Mini age division only, every contestant will be presented with a crown, banner and will carry a Miss Mini title. The Mini contestant achieving the highest overall score will be crowned Miss Mini Northern Maine. The contestant achieving the second highest score will be crowned Miss Mini Aroostook and all other Mini contestants will be crowned Northern Maine Mini Princess.
New to the pageant this year will be the addition of the Miss Northern Maine Hospitality 2014 title. One overall winner will be crowned Miss Northern Maine Hospitality to one contestant in any of the age divisions.

With more than 30 years of pageant experience, Theresa Pelletier founded the Miss Northern Maine and Miss Aroostook pageant in 1997. She also is the director of the Miss New England Pageant, held each year in the fall. She is the recipient of the Miss Maine Scholarship Pageant Volunteer of the Year in 1998 and the Distinguished Service Award for Leadership awarded by the Optimist Club in 1996. Theresa has surrounded herself with a team of experienced pageant professionals who share her vision for sponsoring a positive program that promotes the bright and talented young women from throughout Maine.
