Aroostook Wildlife Refuge hosts Northern Maine Bird Festival

    All with an interest in birds are invited to “take it to the refuge” on June 7, 2014, as Aroostook County’s popular birding festival moves to a new location, Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge in Limestone.

This year’s free-admission event will be held from 6 a.m to 1 p.m. “rain or shine” features: guided bird walks throughout the refuge, netting and banding demonstrations, falconer Dennis Kerekes and his Northern Goshawk, hands-on activities for kids, plus a special live-bird Chewonki Foundation presentation: “Owls of Maine” at 11 a.m. FMI call 328-4634 or visit online at www.aroostookbirders.com.
