    • Hines grew up near the Wharton Tract in south New Jersey, which is a protected woodland and watershed area of one million acres. As development continued around the area and upon meeting the love of her life, Glenn Hines, it was natural for them to marry and move to northern Maine to build a homestead for their two boys. Now there are 10 Hines grandchildren in the state of Maine. Hines has a degree from Philadelphia College of Textiles in textile management and marketing. She later studied mathematics for teaching certification at the University of Maine campus in Houlton. While raising the family, Hines chose jobs that kept her available to be home for the children as much as possible. The empty nest brought opportunities to devote her time to town management for two towns, Hammond and Ludlow. Her other work hours are dedicated to Hines Sculpture and Stonework, which involves assisting with bronze sculptures and working on landscapes and gardens with her husband and son Ryan. For fun, she loves reading, sewing quilts for her family, downhill skiing with her grandchildren, back packing on the Maine trails and canoeing the Maine waters. Throughout her life Hines has been involved with community organizations that protect and improve our world — locally and globally.
    • Faucher works at the Cary Library in Houlton, serving the town and 20 area towns. She started in May 2000 and became the library director in 2006. She has a bachelor’s degree in English literature, with a minor in business management from the University of Maine Presque Isle along with a degree in library and information science from the University of Maine at Augusta. She received her master’s degree from the University of South Carolina in Library Science. A native Mainer, she resides in Ludlow with her husband Yvon, and has two children, one grandson, two dogs and a cat. When not busy at the library, she enjoys camping, hiking, remodeling and the obvious, reading.
    • Crone was born in Presque Isle and moved to Houlton in her junior year of high school. That is were she met her husband Richard. She went on to Enicott College, finished with a business degree and moved back to Houlton where she married Richard and started a family. They have a daughter, Countney, 23, and a son, Alex, 22, and two beautiful twin granddaughters. She has owned Country North Gifts for the past year.
    • York Scott, a Ludlow native, moved back to Houlton in 1999 after graduating from college and living and working out of state for a few years. She started working for Community Health & Counseling upon moving back to Houlton and stayed there for five years in the Community Intervention Program. After having children and deciding to stay home while they were small, she got out of social work and started doing sales and bookkeeping for her father’s organic wholesale vegetable farm. She now co-owns Nature’s Circle Farm with her father and does sales, marketing, and management. She is also on the board of directors of The County Co-op and Farm Store, which plans to open the doors in Fall 2014. Meg has three children, Sabra, 10; Justus, 8; and Joseph, five.
    • Catherine Mattila is an insurance producer with state farm insurance in Houlton and has been with the company for four years. Prior to that, she attended the University of Maine Presque Isle and was employed at the County Federal Credit Union in the loan department. Matilla resides in Houlton with her husband James and daughter, Delilah. When not busy with work she enjoys spending time with family, cooking, running, and spending time outside. She looks forward to working on projects for community betterment with Houlton Rotary Club.
    • Torres Savage recently relocated back to Houlton with her husband after earning a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Maine and a master’s degree in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University. She is currently working in the social work field and has a passion for current events, volunteering and horseback riding. Torres Savage is looking forward to the volunteer opportunities Rotary provides and the wonderful impact the club has on the community.
    • Gartley was born in Houlton and lives in the Shiretown with his wife Marion. Their daughter Liz resides in Boston and his son Matthew lives in Farmington. Gartley was employed for nearly 20 years at Houlton International Corp, the last 18 years of which he served in the capacity of plant superintendent. In 2003, he was hired at the Houlton Post office, in 2006 he became a city carrier and in 2007 he was accepted into the associate supervisor program. Upon graduating from that program he was hired as the supervisor of customer services at the Caribou Post Office, a position he held for two years. In 2009, he became officer in charge of the Houlton Post office and in 2011 he became postmaster. Henry enjoys genealogy and historic photos
    • James Mattila is originally from Caribou. He previously worked at ATX Forms Inc. in sales as a national trade show representative while attending Husson College. After the closure of ATX in Caribou he joined his banking family at The County Federal Credit Union, where he has worked for six years as a loan officer. With the recent opening of the County’s new branch in Houlton James moved to Houlton with his family to develop the mortgage lending program and other business development. He plays in the classic rock band Wally & The Virginian. He looks forward to being part of the efforts Rotary puts forth in service above self in our community.
