Soil and Water Conservation District to hold annual meeting/award ceremony

The Central Aroostook Soil & Water Conservation District will hold their Annual Meeting & Banquet Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Friday, May 9 at 6 p.m. at the Caribou Inn & Convention Center. All landowners in the central Aroostook County are invited to attend.
Featured this year will be awards for the 2013 Conservation Farm of the Year to William and Carol, Matt and Amy and Brock White of White Farms Inc. in Washburn and the 2013 Forest Landowner of the Year to Nancy Holmquist Roble and Niklas Roble of Shaking Hill Farm in New Sweden.
Dave Putnam, UMPI Lecturer of Science, will give a presentation on his research trip to Bhutan, Foreign Devils in Asia: Ice and Water in the Highest Mountains and Deepest Desert.
Cost for the dinner is $21 per person. There will also be a cash bar and a raffle auction with donations from local vendors. Please call the CASWCD office at 764-4153 Ext.130 to reserve a seat and join the fun.
