Rotary Club

The Mars Hill Rotary Club met on April 22 at 6:30 a.m. at the Aroostook Health Center.
The special speaker was Dottie Sines from the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging. Dottie spoke about the programs available to keep local senior citizens at home for as long as possible. Annual wellness checks with a doctor are important to help anyone stay aware from health issues when lifestyle changes can be implemented to alleviate the problem rather than medications. It is also important that children are taught to eat well and stay active.
There are classes available for helping folks with eating right, exercising and other things of interest and concern to senior citizens. Dottie also recommends the book “Medicare Meltdown” by Rosemary Gibson. Contact the agency for more information on the classes available. Their phone number is 764-3396.
