There are currently three rabbits at the Halfway Home Pet Rescue awaiting good homes. The rabbits are spay/neutered and are ready for adoption. President of the HHPR Norma Milton says that the rabbits are great pet quality, very gentle and happy and are about 95 percent litter box trained.
“A perfect addition to a family who would like a gentle, loving pet,” Milton said. “They can simply have an outside bunker with a penned in area in the summer and then either come in the house or the garage in the winter.” There is no adoption charge for these pets, but the applicant must make out an adoption application for review by the adoption team. HHPR is a 501c3 non-profit volunteer organization and a Maine state licensed pet rescue. All donations of money or items given to the Second Chance thrift store are income-tax deductible.
