Bondeson earns engineering award
Finn Bondeson of Woodland has been named the Outstanding Graduating Student in the College of Engineering at the University of Maine.
Bondeson majored in civil and environmental engineering. His many honors include membership in Phi Kappa Phi, the Marcus Urann Scholarship and the University of Maine Presidential Distinguished Scholar Award. Bondeson’s numerous campus leadership activities included serving as vice president of programming in Sigma Phi Epsilon, vice president of the Senior Skull Society, trip leader with Alternative Breaks and president of the Nordic Ski Club. He also has been a member of Tau Beta Pi, Chi Epsilon, the UMaine chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Black Bear Men’s Chorus.
Kieffer honored at UMO
Ginger Kieffer was one of 12 women recently accepted into the Sophomore Eagles Honor Society of the University of Maine — a service-based honor society for sophomore women.
Members are selected based on their possession of the five qualities of an Eagle: scholarship, leadership, character, friendship and dignity.
She is the daughter of Rob and Lehrle Kieffer of Caribou.
Englund awarded
FORT KENT — The TRIO, Student Support Services Program at the University of Maine at Fort Kent held its sixth annual recognition banquet on April 17, to honor students involved in the TRIO program.
During the banquet, Sara Englund of Caribou was one of three students who received the Outstanding Persistence Award.
