The rainy morning Saturday gave way to a clear afternoon just in time for the Opening Ceremonies for the 48th season of the Caribou Little League.
During the Opening Ceremonies, all league players and coaches were introduced onto the Robert White Field after an address from Caribou Little League Vice President Rick Thibeault. The City of Caribou Fire Department Color Guard, led by Capt. Lance Longley, presented the flags and local performer Stephanie Plourde sang the National Anthem.
The Peter J. Ouellette and Caribou Little League Scholarships were then awarded to Matthew Curry and Matthew Milliard, respectively. Each received a plaque and a $200 scholarship.
Finally, the ceremonial first pitch was thrown by State Farm Agent Sean Duplessie, who sponsors the annual travel team tournament hosted by the Caribou Little League in July after the season. Duplessie fired a strike to Sleepers catcher Jay Belanger.
Following the ceremonies, the season kicked off with four games taking place.
