Aroostook County entrepreneurs who have been in business for more than one year and want to grow their venture to the next level are invited to enroll in Women, Work, and Community’s upcoming class, “Beyond Start-Up: Moving Your Business Forward.”
The class will meet on Mondays from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Presque Isle City Hall at 12 Second St. from June 2 to June 30.
The five-week class covers money management and financial tools critical to good decision-making; marketing strategies and strategic planning for growth; and the role of business financing.
Erica Quin-Easter, microenterprise coordinator for Women, Work, and Community in Aroostook County and the trainer for the class, said, “When you’re busy running your business, it’s hard to take the time to plan for future growth. This class will give you the tools, time and support to move your business to the next level.”
“I meet regularly with entrepreneurs and small businesses seeking advice on how they might maintain the viability of their business given the changing economic conditions facing them. A training class like this is very beneficial to helping put a written strategy in place to help maintain the business’s focus during day-to-day struggles to succeed,” said Ken Arndt, the city’s planning and development director.
Arndt adds, “On a more personal note, my wife and I took this class last year and found it extremely valuable and at the same time we made some wonderful connections with other small business folks within the area. It’s a must-do opportunity that should be seized by area entrepreneurs and businesspeople.” The Arndts own and operate Arndt’s Campground on the Parkhurst Siding Road.
Pre-registration is required by Friday, May 30, and there is no fee for the training. To register or for more information, call 764-0050 or email erica.quineaster@maine.edu.
