Williams, Amanda B., 75, May 17, 2014.  Interment held in the Linneus Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.
LINNEUS – Amanda (Barton) Williams, 75, passed into the arms of Jesus at her home May 17, 2014, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born May 23, 1938, the daughter of the late Miles and Ethel (Whitney) Barton.

Amanda graduated from Houlton High School, class of 1956 and then married her husband John in 1959. She worked at several different jobs from a young age but most enjoyed the last one, which was building a successful business at Williams Pools where she worked side by side with her husband for more than 30 years. She thoroughly enjoyed talking with all their customers. Faith played an important role in her life and she was not afraid to share that.
Amanda was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Richard Barton; a sister, Roberta Campbell; and a great-granddaughter, Allison Foley. Besides her husband, John, of 54 years, she is survived by four sons, Craig and his wife, Vicky, of Brunswick, Bruce and his wife, Melodee, Brian and his wife, Lee, both of Linneus, Todd and his wife, Vickie, of Houlton and one daughter, Julie and her husband, Steve Bennett, of Linneus; her ten grandchildren, Audrey, Danielle, Luke, Timothy and his wife, Sarah, Rachel and her husband, Randy Carmichael, Daphne and her husband, Jeff Hegreness, Elaine and her husband, Joe Foley, Angela and her husband, Jon Buzbee, Nicole and Janelle Bennett; six great-grandchildren, Mallory, Krystina, Owen, Declan, Odin and Jeremiah; two sisters, Marjorie Stewart of Auburn, and Leita Jones and her husband, Gordon of New York; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Harris and Susan Golding; brother-in-law, Martin Williams; several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the Hospice ladies who were so awesome with her, our favorite RN Nicole for answering our questions, and a HUGE thank you which isn’t nearly enough to our favorite caregiver and “nurse” John (our Dad and Grampy). He truly set an example of “til death do us part.”
Graveside service was held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Linneus Cemetery. Gifts may be made in Amanda’s memory to the Hospice of Aroostook – Houlton Division, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, ME 04730. Online condolences and guest book: dunnfuneral.com.
You have fought a good fight, finished the course and kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7 Well done!
