     TRUE, Barbara S., 86, PRESQUE ISLE & ASHLAND, at Presque Isle, March 2, 2014. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Masardis Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, Ashland.

    PRESQUE ISLE & ASHLAND – Barbara S. True, 86, entered into rest March 2, 2014, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born December 10, 1927, in Oxbow Plt., a daughter of the late Boardman and Effie Mae (Rideout) Stevens, Sr.
    She worked at The Aroostook Medical Center as a nurse for many years before her retirement. Previously, she was a nurse at several hospitals and nursing homes as she traveled with her husband. Barbara enjoyed knitting in her spare time, and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed fishing, joining her husband on many memorable fishing trips. Overall, Barbara loved caring for her family and friends, even just stopping by to share a story, her sense of humor, or share her loveable smile.
    Barbara is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles A. True of Presque Isle, formerly of Ashland; one daughter, Gloria Caron and her husband, Eugene; two sisters, Virginia Robinson, and Beverly Rafford and her husband, Wendel, all of Ashland; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
    Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her son, Linwood Fleming, Jr. in 1997; five brothers: Boardman, Merle, Judson and Aubrey Stevens, and an infant brother; and one sister, Amelia Whipple.
