HOULTON – Halbert D. Miller, 92, passed away on June 1, 2014, at a local hospital. He was born June 20, 1921, at Littleton, the son of Norman and Jennie (Gartley) Miller.
Hallie graduated from Houlton High School, class of 1939. He served in World War II from February 1943 to April 11, 1946. Hallie worked for years as an oil burner technician for local businesses. He was self-employed as Hallie’s Oil Heating Service several years before his retirement. Hallie was a member of Rockabema Lodge, I.O.O.F. and American Legion. He enjoyed RV camping with his wife and belonged to the Good Sam Road Runners Club.
Hallie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dana and Teri-Ann Miller of Ludlow; brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Nan Miller of Littleton; sister-in-law, Cleo Miller of Grover Beach, CA; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Vivian; son, Wayne; and brothers, Roland and Donald.
