Summer programs
The following is a list of the youth programs being offered by the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department for the summer season: Single A Spinners baseball for children age 5; Single A Salem Sox baseball for age 6; Double AA Sea Dogs baseball for ages 7-8; Triple AAA Paw Sox baseball for ages 9-10; Major League baseball for ages 11-12; junior girls softball for ages 8-12 and senior girls softball for ages 13-16.
Also, tennis tikes for ages 5-8; tennis levels are beginners, advanced beginners, intermediates, advanced intermediates and advanced ladder for ages 8-18. Tennis team as well as private and semi private tennis lessons are also offered. Cheerleading is being offered for grades 4-6. Soccer is for grades 1-6.
For a complete listing of programs being offered, check out the summer program booklet which may be viewed on the department’s website, cariboumaine.org. Booklets can also be picked up at the recreation office.
Summer program registration will be held Wednesday, June 11 from 6-8 p.m. for Caribou residents only. On Thursday, June 12 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., registration will be open to both residents and non-residents.

Summer hours
The Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center’s summer hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. The facility is closed Saturdays and Sundays.

13-15 baseball deadline
Application forms are now available for the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department’s 13-15 year-old summer baseball program.
All players, including returnees and new ones, must register in order to play. All first-year players must also bring a copy of their birth certificate. A registration fee of $25 is required of each player.
Applications and the fee must be turned in by Friday, June 6. Those wishing to participate must be 13 years of age prior to May 1 and must have not turned 16 before the same date.

Summer hoop league
The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is organizing its annual Men’s Summer Basketball League. The league will begin Monday, June 23 and run through Aug. 13. Games will take place Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-9 p.m.

Caribou Rec XTreme registration
CRX is for youths entering grades 6-9 and promotes exciting recreational opportunities throughout Maine.
CRX is an outdoor-based program with emphasis on encouraging kids to have fun while exercising outdoors.
The following is the list of CRX programs being offered this summer.
Week 1, Allagash Wilderness Waterway, June 20-22; Week 2, Kayaking Intro, June 23 and June 25-27; Week 3, Kayaking Pros, July 7-10; Week 4, Wild Outdoor Women at Bar Harbor July 15-17; Week 5, Mountain Biking, July 21-24; Week 6, Baxter State Park I, July 29-31; and Week 7, Baxter State Park II, Aug. 5-7.
These programs have limited enrollment and pre-registration is required.
