The Presque Isle Community Center Campaign Committee is pleased to announce a $25,000 donation from Smith’s Farms.
The Smith’s Farm family has been proudly farming in Aroostook County since 1859. With operations in both Maine and Florida, their headquarters are located on the Fort Fairfield Road in Presque Isle. They are one of the largest suppliers of broccoli east of the Mississippi River.
“The Haskell building has played a huge role in the health and wellness of the Presque Isle area,” said Zach Smith of Smith’s Farm. “It just seems right to invest in something that teaches so many life lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship and community participation. We are pleased to be able to contribute to this project.”
Chris Beaulieu, director of the Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department, was appreciative of the donation.
“We are pleased that Smith’s Farm is donating to our project. Their donation reinforces the importance of support from local businesses,” Beaulieu said. “Investment in our community in vital to the long-term success of Presque Isle.”
