Middle school tennis teams dominate

    CARIBOU, Maine — The Vikings dominated in both singles and doubles play at the Aroostook League Middle School Tennis Tournament, held May 29.
Viking players took the top two spots in all four divisions of play to earn the team title. Also competing were Presque Isle, Houlton and Van Buren.
In girls’ singles, Gabrielle Marquis scored an 8-2 win over Danielle Hanson, while in boys’ singles, Alex Cyr downed Parker Deprey, 8-3.
In doubles, the girls’ tandem of Madison Stratton and Hailey Holmquist bested teammates Kyra Thibeault and Meagan Dube, 8-2. On the boys’ side, the duo of Seth Beidelman and Gabe Rand doubled up on Brennan Poitras and Dan Liu, 8-4.
