ASHLAND – Adam J. Michalka, 31, died peacefully June 14, 2014, following a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. He was born September 17, 1982, in Boulder, CO, a son of Kathy MacDonald and Daniel Michalka, and graduated from Ashland Community High School, Class of 2000.
He graduated from Wyoming Tech, Laramie, WY, and received his degree in Auto Body Technician. Upon his return to Ashland, Adam worked in the garage at J.Paul Levesque & Sons doing auto body repairs and mechanical work. He also worked at the Ashland Hardware. Adam’s greatest love was his “girls,” Renee, Gracie and Georgie; he had finally found what he was looking for and cherished every second he shared with them. No matter how ill he felt, he would always push though to enjoy hunting, snowmobiling, ATVing, and time at the lake with family and friends. He enjoyed working in his garage on any engine he could get his hands on, especially Chevy’s, and prided himself on having every engine leave his shop with more horsepower. His speed boat was one of his favorites with a 454 Chevy engine. He also liked to race stock cars at Spud Speedway. He cherished his time with his Gram Kay, Gramp Lee and brother Jason at their camp in 10-6.
He is survived by his mother, Kathy Levesque and her husband, Dan of Portage; his father, Daniel Michalka of Windsor, CA; his fiancée, Renee Allen of Ashland; his cherished “daughters,” Gracie and Georgia; two brothers, Chris Michalka and his wife, Crystal of Ashland and Jason Levesque of Garfield; two sisters, Jennifer Levesque of Heath, OH, and Ashley Michalka of Windsor, CA; grandparents Lee and Katherine Parker of Masardis, Joyce Michalka of Mapleton, and Blanche Levesque of The Villages, FL; great-grandmother, Vera Steinbeck of Ashland; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Adam was predeceased by grandfathers, J. Paul Levesque and Rudolph “Rudy” Michalka; and his best friend, Joey Clark.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 23, 2014, at St. Mark’s Church, Ashland. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning 9:30-10:45 a.m., at the church.
