EASTON, Maine — A New Brunswick trucker escaped serious injury June 17 when his truck left the road and rolled over on the Richardson Road.
“At approximately 9:30 a.m., Gary Price, 55, of Saint John, was traveling south on the Richardson Road and reached for an item in the cab. Price went off the right side of the roadway and rolled over, striking a utility pole, breaking it,” said Sgt. Chad Fuller, of the Maine State Police.
Trooper Jeff Clark was assigned to investigate the accident.
“Price, who had to be extracted from his truck by Easton fire personnel, sustained minor injuries,” said Fuller.
The truck is owned by Blacks Transfer LTD, of Saint John.
Traffic was re-routed as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.
“Richardson Road was closed for an extended time as a result of the crash,” Fuller said. Richardson Road runs between Route 10 and the Station Road, and serves as the main route for trucks accessing McCain Foods.
Agencies assisting included: Easton Fire Department, Crown Ambulance, Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office, FairPoint, Emera Maine, Time Warner Cable, Easton Highway Department, Maine Department of Environmental Protection and Maine Department of Transportation.
