Fortin, Louis, 86, June 20, 2014.  Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Interment to be held in the New Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.  Arrangements by Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.

AR-Louis-Fortin    CARIBOU – Louis Fortin, 86, died June 20, 2014, at Caribou Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with his family by his side. He enjoyed visits from his son, grandchildren, great-granddaughter and other members of his extended family. He was born in St. Anne, New Brunswick, Canada, on February 23, 1928, the son of the late Edmund and Azilda (Berube) Fortin.
    He married Jeannine Godin, the love of his life, June 24, 1957, and they enjoyed nearly 57 wonderful years of marriage. Louis loved hunting, fishing and spoiling his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
    Surviving in addition to his wife, Jeannine of Caribou, is his only son, Louis Fortin, Jr. of Kennebunkport; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Yolande Lavoie of New Hampshire and Theresa and Bunny Stubbs of Van Buren; a brother, Simon Fortin of Van Buren; his special grandchildren, Joshua and Jill Fortin of Kennebunk-port, and John Fortin of New York; his beautiful great-grand-daughter, Trinnity Hall of Kenne-bunkport. Mr. Fortin was predeceased by his sisters, Jean, Lucy and Simone and brothers Claude, Arthur and Ludger.
    The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Caribou Nursing Home and Cary Medical Center for the exceptional care Louis received.
    Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
